Who Are We?
The History and Leadership of New Hope Christian Academy
New Hope Christian Academy was founded by Mrs. Kara Norris in 1993 with the support of Wallace First Assembly. Pastor Leo Bracken, the church’s pastor, served as the first Administrator and continues to hold that role today. Shortly after the school’s founding, Joan Bracken became the Principal, serving faithfully for 30 years before retiring from the position. Joan now serves as a part-time Remediation Teacher and Administrative Consultant, continuing to impact the school in a valuable way.
In the summer of 2023, Amy Benton, our current Vice Principal, stepped into the role of Principal. Amy holds an Administrative Leadership Certificate from the A.C.E. International Headquarters in Hendersonville, TN, after completing extensive training in six key areas of administration. With 25 years of experience in education and a refreshed knowledge of leadership principles, Amy is excited to lead NHCA into the future, trusting in God’s plan for the school.
We are blessed with a dedicated team of teachers and staff who are committed to the success and growth of each student. Their hard work and passion make New Hope Christian Academy a place where students thrive academically, spiritually, and personally.
Our Learning Environment
At New Hope Christian Academy, our smaller classroom environment allows us to tailor education to the needs of each student. We organize our grades into four learning centers to provide more focused, personalized instruction:
- K4 & K5 Kindergarten
- Elementary Learning Center 1 – Grades 1 & 2
- Elementary Learning Center 2 – Grades 3 & 4
- Upper Learning Center – Grades 5-8
In addition to our core subjects, we offer P.E. and Art once a week, ensuring well-rounded development for every student.
We are committed to providing a Christ-centered education in a nurturing environment, guiding our students to become well-educated youth who boldly reflect the heart of God in our community.
